I wanted to do the whole thing, but I had kinda a shitty day at school today.

don't read the rest if you don't want to listen to/read, whatever, a rant about school.

we have this thing we do on Friday's with our form class (the main class of kids/teacher you have, for those who don't know) called Learning for Life, or L4L. this term, we've been learning about respectful relationships and sexual health. fun. anyway, I asked our teacher (a 40-something married woman with 2 kids) why we where only learning about male/female sex and relationships, and that it was incredibly insensitive to not at least touch of the topic of homosexuality. do you know what she said? "oh that doesn't matter. everyone in this room is straight!" me and the girl who sits next to me (bisexual) kinda made eye contact and then we both stood and exited the class room. there was a boy in my class who wasn't even OUT yet (pansexual) and when we left, he stood up to. we all got in trouble for it, but the teacher couldn't punish us without seeming homophobic, so we where let off with a warning. two guys got a detention for holding hands, since it was 'against school policy to show PDA', when a straight couple was making out only a few metres away. Australia is generally not homophobic, despite only RECENTLY legalising same-sex marriage. most people are quite accepting of it. in early june, on a free-dress day (since we have uniforms), a group of grade twelves came into school with various pride flags and rainbows painted on their cheeks, since June is pride month, they wanted to show support as part of the LGBTQ+ community themselves, and a few of them as allies. they where sent up to the office and given a school uniform because some students and teachers "may of found their outfits insulting or distressing" fucking hell, sorry if being proud of who i am is insulting you. now, I'm Aromantic/Asexual, and i am close friends with two guys. the number of Times, with one guy in particular, I've gotten "just ask him out already" "you clearly like him" "are you dating? you should date" there are about 8 kids in my Geography class who 100% believe I'm dating this guy (HE'S IN A RELATIONSHIP STOP) even though I've spent upwards of 30 minutes explaining to them what Asexual and Aromantic are, and that we are just FRIENDS, and that he is in a relationship. you know what I got? "lying." "you just want to be a special snowflake." "that's not a real sexuality." it pisses me off.

so uh, sorry for that rant. and sorry for the language.
